Early Life and Career Information

Matt LeBlanc was born to Patricia and Paul on the 25th of July, 1967. His mother was an office manager, while his father was a mechanic. Matt is an alumnus of Newton North High School, and he finished high school in 1985.

After high school, he enrolled at Wentworth Institute of Technology but quit as soon as his second semester commenced. Following this, he moved to New York when he was 17 to pursue a career in modeling. However, he was turned down because he was too short.

He then resorted to acting. His first appearance was in a Heinz Tomato Ketchup commercial in 1987. Thankfully, Matt didn’t stop there. He also appeared in some music videos like Miracle and “Say It Isn’t So” by Bon Jovi, “Walk Away” by Alanis Morissette, Tom Petty, the Heartbreakers, and Into the Great Wide Open.

However, he didn’t hit the limelight until he appeared on “Friends,” a popular sitcom that spanned from 1994 to 2004.
Matt’s character endeared many people to him. He played Joey Tribbiani – a not-too-smart guy who is loyal to his circle of friends; who has more luck with women than most of the others; who doesn’t share his food, especially pizza, and who is fun-loving. This role endeared him to most fans, and he became a household name before long.

He also took up roles in “All The Queen’s Men,” “Lost In Space,” “Lovesick,” and “Charlie’s Angels.”

After Friends ended, Leblanc took a five-year break off the screens and returned exceptionally. He began to host “Top Gear” and also starred in “Episodes,” a story created by the producers of “Friends.” He was also on “Man with a Plan” for four seasons. The TV series was canceled in May 2020.

Matt Leblanc’s theatrical skills are revered in the acting industry. As such, he has been nominated several times and has also received some awards. This includes a Golden Globe Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award, and a People’s Choice Award.

Matt was once married to Mellisa McKnight, his longtime girlfriend. The duo married in May 2003. Subsequently, they had Marina Pearl, their daughter, in 2004. Sadly, the pair divorced in October 2006, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason.

After his marriage crashed, Matt dated Andrea Anders from 2006-2015. They were both actors, and they met on the set of “Friends,” where Matt played “Joey.”
